Morgan is 0-4 in Futures semis this year (he last won a semi this week last year in Portugal) and Gadomski is 0-2 in Futures semis ever, so something has to give!

Excellent - he still needs another win to defend all his points from the Final in Portugal this week last year since that was a 15K, but there's no reason why he shouldn't win - too close to call, I'd say.

To be honest, the draw seems to have opened up a bit for Morgan and the highest ranked player he has had to beat to reach the final is WR 761.
But you can only beat what's in front of you and he's managed to do that, even if the semi does look a bit of a struggle. How often have draws seemed to open up and not been taken advantage of ?
Looks quite a bit tougher task in the final, and will probably need to be at his best. All the best to Morgan.
He may have got to the Final the 'easy' way, but what a way to prove he merited his place once he got there!
FI: (6) Morgan Phillips WR 488 beat (3) Javier Martí (ESP) WR 410 by 1 & 4
This is Morgan's second career Futures, breaking a run of five losses in finals since he won the Napoli Future way back in May 2006, and quite a way to defend the points from his biggest week last year, a Final loss in a 15K in Portugal in 2009 week 38.
This means that having won just 1 Futures singles title in Jan-Mar and 1 in Apr-Jun, the GB men have won 11 in the last 3 months!
