QR2:
(1) Richard Bloomfield v Yoann Re (CAN) OR (WC) Filip Peliwo (CAN)

With a qualifying draw that weak, our nos 2-4 may be wishing they'd played here instead of risking it at LA!

5 points is 5 points no matter how you get them!

I'd presume Boggo, Baker and Ward would all have got directly into the main draw so they couldn't have picked up 5 points for qualifying.

I do tend to think though there were potential very good pickings to be had in the main draw here, and I'm a bit pessimistic I'm afraid about them picking up much in LA.

Well, if Bloomers doesn't qualify here, it will be one of the worst results of the season.

Should get 5 very easy points and a nice bit of match practice as well, and hopefully he can get a decent draw in the main draw.

Really good to see Richard back at a high level, especially as a fellow Norwich boy! I fancy him to do OK here, and hopefully we'll see him push up towards his CH over the rest of the year.

It may be a little premature, but I'm amazed that no-one on this board has made any "late Bloomers" puns yet...

Main Draw is out

Top seed is Tobias Kamke WR 100

position 3 & 4 = Q vs Q

position 13 & 14 = Amritraj vs Q

position 19 & 20 = Bubka vs Q

So let's hope Richard is fit and doesn't screw up for a good chance here.

1st set Bloomers 6-1 - 83% 1st serves in, winning 85% when he gets them in (tho 0/4 when he doesn't!), winning about twice as many points as Re.
