Bergot is a 25-year-old at her career high. She reached the Final of the 25K in Padua last month but has lost in R1 of three 25Ks since and hasn't played off clay since March, when she reached the Final of the 10K in Kaarst on carpet. She beat Laura in 3 sets in Stasbourg two months ago, thrashed Tara Moore 0 & 1 in Bournemouth in April and is 5-0 against Brits so far this year, though none of the Brits have been of Katie's standard unless you count Laura.
Katie has a winning record (5 & 3 in Minsk last year) against the next highest seed in her section and a convincing 2-0 H2H against top seed Hlavackova (3 & 3 in Sunderland in 2006 and 3 & 1 in Barnstaple in 2008), but the Czech did of course beat both Cav and Lisa 1 & 2 on Wimbledon qualifying despite having lost to Naomi in the Brescia Final.

The correlation between ITF tournaments with live-scoring, and Brits going out early is far too high for my liking.
And to think Josh's loss in Dublin yesterday seemed bad ...
I've also noticed a very high correlation between men's Challengers with live scoring and Brits going out early and/or only playing in the Challengers that week that don't have live scoring on the ATP site.
