God Ive had enough of Inverdale during Wimbledon. Even before the interview started he annoyed me with 'Eleanor Baltacha'
Heather always comes across as very motivated and very hard working which is great to hear. The interview was pretty dull though, didnt asked anything particularly interesting!! Would rather have heard her plan for the US HC series, since she should have a decent chance of WCs as the USO junior winner and a US based player. Hoping to get her and Laura into, and hopefully through the USOQ draw.
Interesting that Oprandi moved back into the top 100 after winning a 100k in Italy after beating Heather, not dropping more than 6 games in any of her matches!!
You're right, he's just awful. The questions were dire and uninteresting and he kept on cutting Heather. He could have asked about how she plays, her future goals, how she felt she played at Wimbledon, how she feels she has progressed so far etc. etc. But some of those questions were just stupid and most of them were so similar but just phrased in a different way. I really don't like him either.

Interesting that she is training with Laura at the moment, I know that she officially started her winter training block yesterday and I wonder whether the two are going to do it together this year. Maybe both going out to Florida for the warm weather and hitting part with their coaches.
It's a very light-hearted interview, and both girls seem to be in pretty good spirits, probably enjoying being away from the difficult first few days of fitness training for a bit.
I heard that live on radio5live tonight, yes I thought in particular Laura was very relaxed, scoffing down a bit of chicken whilst answering questions. Hev had to answer where you not devastated by not being picked for the Olympics mixed doubles again. Also I think it was Karen Pickering who said she was impressed how confident she thought the two came across in the interview.
Also great decision to give a joint award to both of them.

The amount of interviews Heather has done recently has led to a fair amount of repetition. The Olympics mixed double question is one, but I'm not sure I can bear to listen to one more interviewer ask what her goals are for next season as she said first time round she hasn't set them yet.
Also, I can't believe I forgot to mention in my post that they won the Young Sportswomen of the year award Agreed, a joint award was clearly the best way to go.
The WTA site has links to the top 100 players on the players page, so Laura being outside the top 100 for half the season would have reduced visits to her page. Would would be interesting would be to see how clicks for each play breaks down by country (at least own country v ROW).
Laura probably more likely to win this award - whilst from a British perspective they have both had equally good seasons, the fact Laura is younger and achieved success on a big stage in New York makes her performance more standout from an International viewpoint. Sloane Stephens and Kiki Bertens are the other nominees.

Also per Sunday Times piece last Sunday, both Hev and Laura are heading stateside shortly to continue their offseason training schedule. Hev to Bradenton, Laura to Evert's academy in Boca Raton. As Hev has animportant mixed doubles match partnering Tim against Annie K and Philippoussis on the 6/12 at the Royal Albert Hall it will only be for a few weeks.
It seemed appropriate to me to emphasise the operative word in an iron-y colour
