Richard Bloomfield's non-appearance in Manchester is explained by him turning up in the qualifying draw in Winnetka.

He plays Josh Graves in the first round, and if he wins that, he will face 2nd seed Milos Raonic, who is ranked 295 in the world.

Should win round one, but wouldn't expect anything after that.

Sadly, the results went as expected.

R1 - Bloomfield def. Graves - 6-3, 6-1.

R2 - Raonic def. Bloomfield - 6-3, 6-4.

that's a shame.

what do we think Richard will be thinking about? its been a hard slog for him to try and recover his old form, he was top 200 at one point wasn't he. I wonder how long he will be able to keep this up if he can find that break through before heading over to coaching or something.

Norfolk specialist, i think it means your not allowed to be ranked in the top 150 ever and that in your spare time you visit great yarmouth and norwich is your big night out of the year?
