The Wimbledon wild cards have been awarded to: Temuiraz Gabashvili, Andrey Kuznetsov, Nicolas Kiefer and Jamie Baker, with three still to be announced.
James Ward, Alex Ward, Josh Goodall, Dan Smethurst and Dan Evans have wild cards into qualifying. So where will Boggo go? Perhaps they're waiting for him to come out storming tomorrow. We shall wait and see....
Kiefer?!
Kuznetsov - who?
'bash we'll let them get away with cos of what he did to Sheddie.

Steven, please tell me that's some kind of sick joke...
'bash is probably ranked easily high enough now to be a DA but wasn't when entries closed.
Apparently Kuznetsov is last year's junior champion, fair enough I guess.
I bet the ballkids will be pleased that they've given one to Muppetman Kiefer (he has a reputation as the least ballboy-friendly player in the world)
Seriously though, are they giving WCs to these players because they expect them to attract crowds or just to make the snub to the Brits even more brutal than it otherwise would be?

...strangely it shows the downturn in form for a lot of our boys though. No one made the top 250 cut other than Boggo and Jamie... I hope they seriously consider the 3 other ones. I would rather see Brits getting a chance than watching a random nobody that two of us have heard of.
Kiefer for me is a no-no. Why? Why would we want to see him?
OH! But I am pleased for Alex getting at least a qualies wildcard. That is deserved IMO after his Nottingham performances. Hope he comes good.
Are the playoffs only for QWCs now?

So only one WC to a Brit, at most 2 with Boggo since all other likely possibilites have been given a QWC. I wonder if that's a record for a Slam in the least number of WCs given to home players.
Nishikori is only nine out of making it by rights, and with probably five or six players already out injured, may get in without the use of the wild card anyway, but probably not too surprising to see him get one.
Kuznetzov as the boys champion is another one that makes sense given the trend over the past few years.
Gabashvili seems to fit the bill as the player who has a good run in one event heading into the tournament and thus must get a wild card... don't think it's a great decision, but given the lack of candidates, perhaps not surprising.
Kiefer... I may be on my own here but I can understand his wild card and do like watching him as a player, and is only ranked so low becuase of injury (although he was on his way down before injury). He has a good game for grass and could win a few rounds, so may end up deserving it.
Of the remaining three... Tomic I expect to get one, and maybe Harrison as well. Boggo may get the other one if he beats Dimitrov and then Lalo, but otherwise, no idea who will get one.

You mean bloody Dimitrov missed out in SW19? Quel dommage...!
P.S. Would somebody kindly explain to me what the bloody Russkie federation has done to warrant the award of a WC to bloody Gabashvili? Does the influence of the oligarchs of "Londongrad" now extend to leafy SW19?
So where's Evo? He's on the Ace list but not on the official one.
Looks like LTA have just used the basic guidelines of top 250 for a WC and top 500 for a QWC, only making exceptions for Wardinator and Boggo. Even Baker who has been given one is a little dodgy given his poor year since that final against Eaton and a very average performance today.

Hadn't noticed that, but you're right! I'm sure the later one (the Wimbledon one) is the correct one.
