The LTA reckons Andy has a tough draw in the singles. The doubles boys have, if anything, an even tougher challenge ahead next week:
R1: Colin Fleming & Ken Skupski vs Stephen Huss & Gaėl Monfils (AUS/FRA) (top seeds, Nestor & Zimonjic, if they come though that! ) R1: Andy & Jamie Murray vs Scott Lipsky & Sam Querrey (a fighting chance there?) R1: Ross Hutchins & Jordan Kerr (AUS) vs Karol Beck & David Skoch (SVK/CZE) (another fighting chance?) R1: (WC) Chris Eaton & Dominic Inglot vs Marin Cilic & André Są (CRO/BRA) (be interesting to see how Chris & Dom fare there ) R1: (WC) Jamie Delgado & Jonny Marray vs Novak Djokovic & Jonathan Erlich (SRB/ISR)
* Good to see sense prevailing for once & the two WCs going to British pairs!
Looks like Andy is playing doubles to get more grass court practice. Normally he would call on Hutch to break up his partnership for a week, but his partners must be getting fed up with that. So Jamie is doing the honours. Not sure that is a good idea, but Jamie did not play Nottingham, leaving Marray to partner Dimitrov. Glad they are getting their partnership together again for Eastbourne, and hopefully Wimbledon.
Does this mean that Jamie and Andy are back together will no ill feelings? Personally i think bad move for Jamie he should have stuck with Jonny Marray instead of swopping partners
