New Hero

Its not uncommon for a previously unheard of (by the public) player to burst on to the scene during the grass court season.  Chris Eaton is an obvious one, Ian Flannagan another.

Not quite the same impact we have seen players raise eyebrows on here, even if below national press level.  Lee Childs qualifying for Wimbledon, James May deafeat top seeds at Surbiton......there's often British based upsets.  So who could be the new star the tabloids are saying should be in the Davis Cup team in a few weeks time, and who will impress us on here?

Dominic Inglot could be for example, if he's even fit, could be the new star???  I really cannot see anyone else.  On the lesser level, a player regaining some earlier promise it could be virtually anyone (as none have shown much recently blankstare )  but Josh Goodall or Chris Eaton would be the likeliest picks.

Any others?  We need a glimmer of hope from somewhere hmm

Pity Oliver Golding is still a couple of years away yet from turning pro or playing for Davis Cup. I think he's the most likely to be Britain's "next big thing" in tennis since Andy Murray.

No idea who, if anyone, is going to become this year's "two week wonder" a la Eaton 2008. How much good will it really do them either? Tabs forgot all about Eaton after Wimbly 2008 was over.
