Is it just me, or did Romania F1 only appear in this weeks list of Futures very recently? I'm sure I checked last week and it wasn't listed - I thought it had been cancelled!
Anyhoo, I noted a lone Brit amongst the stream of Romanians in the qualifying draw! Max Gregor entered here, and played his first match against Ashleigh Janke of Australia, taking it double breadsticks; 6-1 6-1. Unfortunately he came up against 4th seed Paul-Mihai Puscasu of Romania (where else?!) and got served a bagel before coming back and serving Puscasu a breadstick, and then finally going down in the third 6-3. Final score 0-6 6-1 3-6.

I vaguely remember one of this week's Futures being listed as cancelled too, but I don't remember which one - it seems unlikely the players would have turned up if it had been shown as cancelled though, unless they don't use ITF to get their info, which maybe they don't.

On ATP Challenger page last week when you clicked on the "Next Week" tab, I strangely remember Romania F1 being absent from the list... I'm certain I would've remembered if it was listed, as I was specifically looking for Romania F1 at the time. But I didn't check on ITF at that time so maybe it was still up on ITF, steven, which could explain why the players still turned up.

Ah, that makes sense. The ATP Challenger page quite often has a Future or two missing when you look at it the previous week, it's a right pain when setting up the tournament codes for the T25 table.

Shame there aren't more Brits here. The draws, both main and qualifying are heavily dominated by Romanians (although the main draw seeds show a bit more nationality variety).
I believe Daniel Smethurst reached the final of Romania F3 last year.
