Fully expected Bally to be competitive here as Cirstea struggled in qualifying and in recent tournaments. The big unknown was whether Bally had it in her to take advantage of Cirstea vulnerability. So far so good.

Really good performance so far against last year's RG quarter-finalist, going up a set and a break, but she's just been broken back.
