Interesting. That's not true of the men, I don't think.

AUS, CAN, ENG, RSA & NZL ought to be able to produce 3 each, giving us 15 (possibly 18 if SCO can be included on that list too) plus the 13 other countries in my list makes 28 or 31.

However, this does suggest that most of those of 13 other countries will get a place if they want one, and if a few of them don't send anybody, someone from Guernsey might get in despite not having a ranked player, especially if Heather plays the women's event and agrees to play the mixed too.

I don't see why PRs wouldn't count in the normal way, but I hadn't been following Qureshi's career closely enough to know that he was ranked that low without having been injured. I wonder if Imran on MTF is still pushing for him to be given a main draw WC to every slam. wink

That does surprise me, I thought that if anyone in the top 100 entered, it would be him, with the lure of winning a gold medal on home soil. I guess it'll be him from the  top 100 or nobody then.

Another reason why players might not be too keen to play at the CGs - it's being played on Rebound Ace, the surface that the AO gave up on after it was thought to contribute to an increased number of injuries at that event.

1)SOL - Michael Leong WR 1268 what nation is this? is my english translation for this nation letting me down?

Question 1) no, no points, which is why Johnnylad is getting bored with it probably (I can kind of see his point, I must admit!)

Scottish team - Elena Baltacha, Joss Rae, Mhairi Brown, Jamie Murray and Colin Fleming.

Seems like Andy Murray and Baker turned them down, but Nik Slater made it clear on twitter that she wanted to be selected so not quite sure why she hasn't been. Wonder if Colin will play singles, I imagine he might as well.

Hmm, presumably Nik Slater would have got in because RBBOT earlier in the thread reckoned you couldn't fill 26 places with ranked women players given the maximum 3 singles players per country. 

Nik is certainly ranked, so don't know if it's a choice just to take up 2 singles spots and Mhairi Brown, who I don't know at all, is for doubles ?

I and most folk even in Scotland I would suggest would say Mar-ree.  However the proper Gaelic pronounciation of the name is Var-ree as per  :

When the golfer Mhairi McKay emerged from nowhere to lead the US Women's Open a few years ago,I hadn't seen her name just heard it.I didn't quite guess the spelling correctly.
