Week 19 - ITF ($25K) - Caserta, Italy Clay

MD:

4. Naomi Cavaday
12. Anna Smith

Good to see Anna back, hope she's 100% and ready to continue her hard court form on the clay.

Anna is first up at 10am BST tomorrow followed by Naomi. They team up together in doubles as third seeds and have a bye to the quarter-finals.

Oh dear, that didn't go too well for Anna  cry    Julia Mayr seems to be taking a liking to the GB girls, although last week after she overwhelmed Cav she was well beaten by her elder sister Evelyn in the next round.

However, I think Anna can be forgiven a fair bit given this is her first match after she pulled out with an abductor injury after a set in France a couple of weeks ago.  That set is actually the only set she had played in the last month prior to today.

After all Anna's success in the early part of the year in hard courts, clay isn't being kind to her what with being injured in her first match of the year on clay and now this defeat.

Hopefully there is no problem with the injury and with a bit more practice she will get back into the swing of things before too long.
