Anne beat Sprem in straights in Memphis and the WC doesnt look capable of troubling her. Ballys draw looks tougher but hopefully both women will bag the 30 points and enter the MD

It's weird the way Bally keeps just missing out on the main draw spot in these premier events.

Yeh shes comfortably the top seed. She beat Bychkova in IW so should be confident of qualifying here

It looks like Scheepers is about to beat Burnett, so Elena could be on soon.

But at least in Rome she should pick up 30 points & starting getting her eye in on the dirt in the process! wink

Good start, Bally already 4-0 up.

Good start from Bally, *4-0 up, double break already.

Q+MD win would be 100 points, same as winning a match in the MD of a slam. Certainly not to be sniffed at. MD is now out though and none of the spots seem particularly easy as you would probably expect. I guess Azarenka may not be a bad draw since she bombed out of Stuttgart convincingly against a qualifier?

With Bally serving for the set at 5-2, the scoreline looks quite comfortable. However, she's won only 7 more points than Arn, and had 6 break points against her serve. The good news is that Bally has saved all 6, whilst converting the only 2 she's had on Arn's serve.

Bally saves another in that game, but takes the set 6-2. smile

The sign of a good player though, being able to constantly defend BPs and convert ur own.

Unfortunately, one of the break points against Elena has been converted *2-5.
