Really want Chris and Dom to pick up loads of points here, have no idea how fast the courts will be over in Korea though.

I see Peya and Van Der Merwe are down for this event, seeded 1 and 2

They are both in a 100,00 +H Challenger semi-final in Jo'burg so can't really seeing them going from Jo'burg to Korea future considering the amounts of points they will have won.

So good news for Eaton and Inglot

BAD NEWS! :(

Inglot won his 1st round match 6-4 6-3

only to then go and lose 3-6 6-4 4-1 and retire in his second round.

I hope its nothing serious for Dom and hopefully we'll see him back in the dubs this week.

Horrible news, like you say hopefully it's nothing too bad though.

Is it possible to lose in QR2 and then get a LL spot in the Main Draw? I was wondering whether BBD had a real injury or whether playing 2 games in the middle of the night might be the reason for him retiring. As he'd just come from Jo'burg, it could be that he was simply to tired to play. After all, his opponents are players he should be beating quite easily.

If it is possible to get a LL spot, could it be that he retired knowing some players would struggle to make the trip, e.g. Van Der Merwe.

He'd need 9 LL spots to open up and then come out top of the QR2 losers in the draw for LL places (it's not done in seeding order for Futures), so it doesn't seem like a likely plan!

A think a more tired Dom is the case and maybe an injury due to fatigue, I always thought it would be difficult to get to Korea and prepare in time, maybe he thought he'd scrape in MD.

L32: (4) Chris Eaton WR 402 v Woong-Sun Jun (KOR) WR 571

At first sight, this is another nice draw for Chris, but digging a bit deeper, maybe it isn't! His first opponent, ranked as high as 230 two years ago, has H2Hs of 0-1 v Bloomers (10-8 in the final set t/b in Queen's qualifying 2 years ago), Baker & Auck, 1-0 v Hutch and 1-1 v Josh Goodall. He retired from his QF last week. The other seed in Chris's section is (7) Hiroki Kondo (JPN) WR 466, who reached the Final last week.

Hopefully Chris can go quite deep in this torny, I think you have to be hoping for a semi-final at least from him, he needs some wins before the grass season and needs to be playing well.

As Steven has shown his 1st round could be tough, but hopefully we'll see him come through.

Good news about Dom, he has shown up with Chris in the dubs and they are the top seeds. Looks plain sailing to the final, the bottom half looks a bit stronger.

Oh dear  cry

Although as Steven says Jun has been ranked much hiigher in the past, he has no great form over the last year so it didn't seem too bad a draw.

Dissapointed for Eaton, but as Steven said, maybe this Jun is a better player than his ranking suggests at the moment.

Good luck to the lads in the doubles, they start tommorow.

You can't have been wishing hard enough, spud:  they lost to the unranked Korean WCs by 4-6 7-6(3) [6-10]. bleh
