Bloomers

Richard Bloomfield has had an injection into the disc in his back that has troubled him for the last 14 months.
The injection proved to be the best option for the 26 year-old, who was considering surgery which would have resulted in a lengthy lay-off. Two weeks after this treatment Bloomfield was able to compete in the National Premier League doubles finals at Esporta Gloucester and was pleased with the way his back responded, saying: Surgery wouldve put me out for a year and at this stage I cant really be missing that amount of tennis. The doctor recommended this injection, which is supposed to last for a year, so hopefully Im fit now for the grass court season and summer county cup. Bloomfields Cheltenham team lost in the finals of this weekends event to Loughborough University.

Hopefully indeed this will do the trick and Bloomers won't suffer any further damage, and he can now enjoy a better period.

I must admit when I saw the headline, I feared what I might read.
