pleasant suprise. Tough draw for heather, qualifying and winning a round would put her in the top 400, I believe. Good luck heather!

This must be the toughest field I can remember for a 25 so ranking points are going to be difficult to obtain probably Heather will give us our best chance this week. I assume that Mel has taken the last slot in the main draw so at least she avoids the tough qualification.

On current rankings, winning first round in MD wouldn't quite put Heather in the top 400.  She'd be on 86 points, currently equivalent to 402nd place.  Though of course much depends on other player's points movements.  Apologies if anyone has managed to already work out that she would be there.

Assuming not, she might as well win at least another round to make sure  smile

weird loss of second set from Heather but good that she recovered accordingly. Possible sign of fatigue? I hope she can hold out til the end of the Mexican tournie because there is a big chance there.

Mine too. Heather lost last week to Shuai Zhang who went on the win the tournament (rather more easily, 6-2 6-1 over Naomi's conqueror).

3 nice wins. On current form Heather is the slight favourite in her match with Georgie. But as Tutu said fatigue might be a small factor.
