What is Willis playing at - he entered here then withdrew to play Germany futures then withdrew from there and now is playing here again!

Because it's one of the first three European Futures of the year, there's quite a strong qualifying draw (including quite a few French players who have seen better days ...), with less chances for lots of Brits to make it through than there were in the summer/autumn Futures.

All GBR and/or UNR unless otherwise stated:

QR1: Simon Konov v Chris Priddle
QR1: Sebastian Jackson v (WC) Jordan Gray
QR1: Ahmed el Menshawy v Jordan McCulloch
QR1: David O'Leary v Toby Martin
QR1: Joseph Gill v Marc Beckles
QR1: Connor Glennon v Matthew Thomas Monaghan
QR1: David Baxendine v Emilien Firmin (FRA) WR 1343
QR1: Zack Evenden v Olivier Charroin (FRA) WR 1165
QR1: Daniel Cochrane v Sean Smith
QR1: (WC) Andrew Quirk v Wesley Koolhof (NED) WR 1711
QR1: Sam MacNeil v Mark Verryth (AUS) WR 1485
QR1: (WC) Jonny O'Mara v Vincent Stouff (FRA) WR 1795
QR1: Gianluca Cocco v Alan Bevan

QR2: (q1/WC) Josh Goodall WR 305 v Konov or Priddle - other seed in section: (q12) Anton Manegin (RUS) WR 905
QR2: Jackson or Gray v (q2) Jean-Frederik Brunken (GER) WR 563
QR2: el Menshawy or McCulloch v (q11) Germain Gigounon (BEL) WR 854
QR2: (q13) Max Jones WR 952 v O'Leary or Martin - other seed in section: (q3) Thomas Cazes-Carrere (FRA) WR 592
QR2: Gill or Beckles v (q4) Baptiste Dupuy (FRA) WR 623
QR2: Glennon or Monaghan v (q10) Clement Reix (FRA) WR 748
QR2: Baxendine or Firmin v (q5) Gary Lugassy (FRA) WR 626
QR2: Evenden or Charroin v (q15) Marko Danis (SVK) WR 1094
QR2: Cochrane or Smith v (q14) Andriej Kapas (POL) WR 990 - other seed in section: (q6) Alexandre Renard (FRA) WR 649
QR2: Quirk or Koolhof v (q7) Florian Reynet (FRA) WR 679
QR2: (q9/WC) Matt Illingworth WR 733 v MacNeil or Verryth
QR2: (q8) James Feaver WR 714 v O'Mara or Stouff
QR2: Cocco or Bevan v (q16) Bart van Monsjou (NED) WR 1142

QR1 & QR2 are both scheduled to be played on Sunday.

The 'Meatball mystery' has deepened still further - after being on the entry list here then withdrawing when he got into the German Future, then withdrawing from that and getting a qualifying WC in Glasgow on the list published on Friday by the LTA, he's not in the qualifying draw here after all ... confuse

There are some results on the ATP drawsheet but only for four matches and I can't see why play would have stopped at an indoor event unless they lost power or something like that, so it's anybody's guess what's going on. Two of those matches involved Brits:

QR1: Chris Priddle beat Simon Konov by 1 & 2 smilecry
QR1: (WC) Jordan Gray beat Sebastian Jackson by 7-6(3) 6-3 smilecry

QR2: (q1/WC) Josh Goodall WR 305 v Chris Priddle
QR2: (WC) Jordan Gray v (q2) Jean-Frederik Brunken (GER) WR 563

The LTA site shows the following BRits through to FQR according to tomorrows OOP:
Josh Goodall to play Rozenzweig,
Max Jones to play q3,
Illy to play q7.
The other Brit seeded in qualifying is Feaver and he didn't get through.

Slim pickings, but then only Goodall and Feaver were seeded to qyalify in the first place, with seeds 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 all French - if only there had been a French Future this week! (not that a French Future being on ever seems to stop them wink)

Doubles draw.  Chris Eaton & Dominic Inglot are the top seeds.  Here's hoping Dom can carry on from where he left off last year! pray.gif  Apart from those two, James Marsalek & George Morgan have a WC (vs Galvani & Mertens! cry ), as have Bloomers & the Yank, Will Gray (???), who arguably have a better chance against the unranked Frogs, Baptiste Dupuy & Gary Lugassy.  The only Brits in the bottom half are Goody & Ricey (WR 1073), who play the German pair, Jaan-Frederik Brunken & Peter Gojowczkck (WR 2674).
