jamie was lights out in the 1st set.  should be a great match tomorrow vs. ryderstedt.  they have been practicing together for the last couple of days.

on a side note, i have two boys(8 and 5) and jamie was so nice giving them autographs after the match.  tennis needs more ppl like baker boy.

Yes Craig the guys 1st class....there is more to life than tennis. Being a decent human being is a good starting point.

Hope he can come through.

That's a nice convincing win to get him started. smile.gif

Ryderstedt has been ranked as high as 130 in 2005 (when he was 20), but soon slipped down to the 200s then yo-yo'd between the 200s and 300s before slipping out of the top 500 last year - he must have got injured last June, because the only match he has played since then (before today) was a 3 & 4 loss to Ireland's James McGee inR1 of the Sheffield Future last week.

In the first half of 2009, he lost to both Josh Milton and James Ward, but qualified for San Jose ATP (where he lost 0 & 6 to Duckboy) and beat Vince Spadea (then again, didn't everyone wink) on his way to the semi-finals of the Carson Challenger.

Near his best, he'd be capable of giving Jamie a very good match, but I assume that having played only one ranked match in the last 6 months, he probably isn't!

ryderstedt is coming off shoulder surgery.  he was our 2005 champion and possesses a big forehand and serve, especially indoors.

yes, jamies match will be on center court tomorrow.
