Slightly worried about the 7-6 in the final set. Are the heriocs of the last 2 weeks starting to catch up with Naomi.
I'd be very surprised, considering how impressively Naomi won her last match, Sunday's final. Maybe just simply diodn't play that well or indeed as was suggested perhaps Jennifer played really well. But then I'm more a glass half full person
L32: KHAN, Natasha lost to (WC) COHEN, Jessica (FRA) 6-4 3-6 0-3 ret.
Pity for Tash, and I hope nothing serious. But as someone said the other week I don't know why she is still going on playing so late in the season, when by her results ( and known better ability ) there are clearly issues with her game at the moment that surely should be getting addressed in the off-season.
I'm assuming Tash was looking to score some easy wins and rebuild some confidence in her game? I hope she hasn't done the reverse and damaged her confidence further as we all know that back in the Spring of 2007 she was looking like a hot prospect until injury struck her.
It must be difficult having been out for 4 months and then playing four consecutive weeks . She probably imagined she would have the odd defeat and so wouldn't be playing as many matches. Eventhough the opposition is pretty weak in these Cuban tournaments you still have to keep your mental focus day after day.
