Week 46 - Futures F2 ($15k) - Santa Tecla, El Salvador

L32: (4) Alexander Slabinsky WR 645 v (Q) Javier Waase (ESA) UNR
L32: Paul Bishop WR 1420 v (Q) Diego Castillo (GUA) UNR
L32: (6) James Feaver WR 727 v Borut Puc (SLO) WR 1071

Good chance for Bishop to score his first point of the year and hopefully Slabba will dish out some bagels. Tricky draw for Feaver though.

Yes, should be a Slabba-Bishop match-up in round 2.

This is exactly the same tournament where Bishop picked up his ranking point last year, and he's got a lovely R1 round to do the same again this year.

It's seeded for a Slabba-Feaver QF too, but I agree with Wolf that Feaver might not make past R1.  But hopefully...

Slabba needs to do well here, he's def got a chance of winning this if he's back to full fittness.  But, the 3 Dominican Futures that follow look to have a far, far tougher field where it'll be trickier to progress.

Come on Slabba - take your inspiration from Jamie. You can get back to your previous ranking. Good luck, good health and a good win already.

Slabba (& Jamie Feaver), the top seeds, had better luck in the doubles QF, where they beat Rosenzweig & Stevenson (FRA/CAN) by 3 & 4, but there won't be a compatriot on the other side of the net in the semi, as Paul Bishop & Christian Guevara (USA) (3) lost badly to the Arevalos, 3 & 1! smile  cry

Shame for Slabba to lose but he is still finding his way back onto the tour it seems and hopefully next year will be a better year for him.

The doubles boys dropped like flies yesterday:  Slabba & Jamie were even more badly beaten by the Arevalos, 1 & 1! bleh
