I was pleased to see Jack Baker's name again.  He's the same age as Dom Inglot, and been at University of South Alabama. He had about the same reasonable success in Futures as Inglot before going to uni. Thought I see what I could find on 'tinternet.

Found this...

"FORMER TENNIS PLAYER JACK BAKER WINS VEGAS PING PONG TOURNAMENT

LAS VEGAS --- Former University of South Alabama mens tennis player Jack Baker is $100,000 richer these days after winning the inaugural HardBat Classic ping pong tournament in June.

The Classic, held at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, brought in hundreds of players from all over the country. Baker won 17 matches in three days, including victories over Trevor Runyan, one of the top players in the U.S., in the semifinals and 73-year-old Wayne Obertone in the finals."

Sorry if someone's posted this before, but that's a hell of a story!

Shame Max Jones didn't win - he seems to have stalled a bit lately after his comeback to Futures tennis after US uni.  Max is the same age as Baker and Inglot too (23).

Also, I see Jack Baker has drawn Arzhang Derakhshani - a name that has gone down in the annals of tennis history as the Deester's first pro win.

There seem to be some quite upset people about this table tennis tournament...

http://mytabletennis.net/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=27313

It was handicapped, so unrated players, such as Jack Baker, got a 17 point start (first to 21) against the top players!  Hehe.

Christ. With a result like that I'm surprised he managed to get past BYE.

Getting thrashed by the first player to lose a Futures match to the Deester, that's quite bad!
