Big milestones for two GB doubles players today - Ken has ended up even higher than I thought at WR 50 (Colin is WR 53) and Jonny has cracked the top 100 (up 1 at 100) - Hutch is still the top-ranked Brit at WR 47.

well done flemski! i think thsi shows hard work and team work can pay off. not jumping partners at the drop of a hat hoping for someone better to come along when things get a little tough .

For how long will they be able to keep up this level of performance? They have done a fantastic job of riding their luck - this week they played and won three match tie breaks, played and won two regular tiebreaks. I also have a slight concern that regular pairs on the doubles tour who havn't played against them before will learn their weaknesses and impede their progess. Having said that, it is not possible to wiin two ATP events if you are idiots. And as for being lucky, one of the definitions of luck is preparedness meeting opportunity.
Irrespective of what else happens, they have some cash in the bank and will be playing the main tour for at least the next year.....

Now, I wonder who you could be thinking of here. . .

who IS he talking about? i would make a guess at Jamie Murray for dropping butorac for mirnyi, but i cant really tell
JM is the one who springs instantly to mind, but it was also a general comment. i am sure life for dubs teams can be tough, spending a lot of time together, and if things slip on the court i'm sure it can spill over, but generally i think better results cna be achived by long term team work and understanding.
most of the top duvs guys, we know, couldn't really cut it on the singles tour, but its not about that. it about playing as the team, and surely the longer the team stays together the more coordinated it will be in its actions.

Excellent work from both lads. If anything, the fact this pair have beaten top pairings already shows that they're not gleaning points from weak easy draws and aren't scared of them either.
Guile's new Super Move should be named Flemski BOOM!
maybe that how the win, during the mtbs when they hit the ball it turns into a super charged green glowing disk that melts their opponents racquet strings.

Street Fighter humour not working? Alright...
Is that the Green guy? i always thought he was called Gail
Flemski have to win a slam though if they want to replace HADOUKEN! as Ryu's super move

The green guy, with the silly hair, yes. [pedantry] And if I'm being particularly pedantic, Hadouken is merely a special move. His super move is called the Shinku Hadouken. [/pedantry]
Sorry, I'm rather obsessive over Street Fighter. And somehow the idea of a Flemski slam is rather BRILLIANT...
no i don't mind the pedantry at all. i used to love playing as Ryu, so i should know what his specific moves were! i always hated Dhalsim so much, he was a nightmare to fight against
