I hope it's only this week, anf there aren't maybe more serious issues with the hip problem Mel had in Barnstaple.

She has quite a lot of ranking points to defend this week and the two following weeks.

That's a reasonable draw for Laura against someone who has won a lot of matches this year, but usually falls short against really strong players (Pervak has beaten her easily twice in recent weeks). Chalova has lost all three matches against Brits this year (Naomi B, Emily and Bally). Arantxa Rus, who also held the junior number 1 ranking for a while last year, is likely to be her second round opponent - but the Dutch girl has struggled of late.

Very difficult to predict how Laura will do here but at least she's not playing a left hander.
