Week 36 - Challenger (€42,500) - St. Remy, France - Hard

Colin Fleming looks to join Alex Bogdanovic, Josh Goodall and Dan Evans in the main draw after managing to get to France in time to sign in.

He's top seed in qualies and has a bye in the first of two qualifying rounds.

Will have to beat either Romain Mathieu or more likely Oliver Charroin, ranked 1391 to qualify.

Should be an easy three points for Colin.

Also should Colin win he will either play a qualifier or the chance of two wildcards in Eysseric or Hilaire

The rest of the boys have tough draws, Can't see Dan or Josh winning

Might fancy Boggo's chances against Bohli, Boggo's earnt more points than him this year but Bohli has won a hardcourt challenger in July

All in all it wont be too much of a dissapointment if none of them win, although Fleming does have a good shout of making round 2

What a sitcom. Rubbish draws all round. I'll be happy with one brit winner out of those three matches. Boggo has a big incentive though, guaranteed qualifer in round two!

As the knight says, that is one hell of a draw (emphasis on the hell bit) - Bohli bet Boggo $ & 2 in Lanzarote last year. His last match against a Brit was agaionst Wardy, who won 7-5 ret., but the last Brit to beat him before that was Colin Fleming in 2005.

De Chaunac is on a 13-match winning streak against Brits since losing 9-7 in a final set tiebreak to Alan Mackin 9 years ago!

Baggy won the Vancouver Challenger last month and is on a 7-match winning streak against the top Brit since retirining in the Nottingham Challenger Final four years ago.

i still think Boggo can definitely win his. Evo will be happy pushing his opponent, Josh is playing someone who i think will enjoy playing him

It seems that the Brit with the best chance of a win will be Fleming given that draw.

Don't think Evans can beat Baggy, while I'd be surprised if Goodall beat de Chaunac. Boggo has a chance against Bohli is good Boggo turns up, but he would be the outsider in that match.

Great draw for Fleming though with a qualifer or two wild cards, and that would be a match that he'd be hoping to win.

nasty draws there (anyone find the dubs draw?) one making the 2nd rd would be nice. certainly looks like colin could pick up the most points there week. On the face you'd say boggo has the best draw but Bohli did have 2 good weeks earlier in the summer on outdoor hard, inc picking up 3 wins over top 100 players along the way.

As has been said, what a rubbish draw.

Hopefully though at least one player will really produce a performance that upsets the odds.

dubs draw is out Flemski top seeds and a bye into the QF. Boggo also in the dubs, 4th seed with Kudryavtsev and he too gets a bye.

From the Skupster (*) via Twitter 3 minutes ago:

"Arrived in St Remy late last night. Just watched Flembo qualify in singles. Match of two halves. Got a bye first round of doubles!! BOOM!!"

So that's 3 points for Colin then smile.gif

(*) I hadn't realised anyone else referred to him as that, but Flemskitennis's tweet this morning calls him that too LOL

I wonder what Flembo needs this week to beat his career high ranking?
