Hopefully he should be able to make the cut, although with the cut for the main draw at 74, it's possible that he won't make it.

Davis Cup should help him as there will be plenty of players unavailable because of that, but with no other hard court event that week, anyone who wants to play will go to Metz.

last year MD cut was 63 and the Q cut outside the top 1000, i don't know what challengers were on, which could have an effect as you say, but both Josh and Rich entered it so it probably means there was nothing better in Europe at least, hmm or does that mean there was a challenger they couldn't make the cut for so entered Q's there instead? ok now i;ve got my self confused

Still a good week in St Remy wouldn't go amiss, at least to recoup some of the last chunk of points he has got going off at the same time! even just to stay in the top 250 would be nice from a psychological point of view.

Im sure Chris Eaton would love his chance at the qualies here, last year, his performances around this time at ATP quals were very solid, taking class opposition to 3 sets and beating brit basher at that time-Nielsen. He played here well last year, so the courts may suit him, at Metz.

Men are really spread out - I agree with the assumptions about Metz. Would be dissapointed if we didnt have a few Brits there. Looking forward to Shrewsbury

i saw some on AM say Fleming had been called in to the DC team. maybe JL is thinking of running Flemski in the dubs if Murray cant play?

well it looks like Goodall is out and Flembo replaced him as a singles player - which sort of makes sense, i mean if Boggo isn't being picked Flembo is the next singles player as he's ahead of Bloomers, Cox and injured Slabbers right now, arguably Baker too

Some great movement in the Shrewsbury list - Laura Robson is in the qualies, as are Rae, Moore, Khan and Elliott - so hopefully a qualifier there! Also, Naomi has squeezed into the MD so that should free up an extra WC and mean Naomi only needs a few wins for the big points.

I expect Laura will play the qualifying really, since she is limited for WCs, but I think Tara and Joss deserve MDWC, and hopefully Watson will decide to play here.

Tara has done nothing to warrant a WC but i agree about jos, she needs a step up in level.
