Eaton/Thornley came through there doubles very comfortably 6-3 6-0.
Bradsahw/Jones fell 7-6 6-2
Brassington and his partner lost a close one in 2 tiebreaks.
All there round 1 singles matches are played tommorow, very good news- just spoke to Sean and the courts there are very quick which him and Chris will love playing on. Not sure about how the other 3 play so might/might not suit them.
It always looked like 4/5 making it through to the second round and thats exactly what happened, great effort from Brassington but looks like he fell away after the first set. Solid wins for the rest, and onto round 2.
Everyone plays tommorow including Eaton/Thornley in the doubles.
R2: Max Jones WR 1173 vs (1) Vishnu Vardhan (IND) WR 451 R2: (8) Sean Thornley WR 823 vs Timothy Bradshaw WR 1040 R2: (3) Chris Eaton WR 537 vs Seong-Yoon Chung (KOR) 1254
(3) Chris Eaton/ Sean Thornley WR 1446 vs Young-Jun Kim/Hyun-Soo Lim (KOR) WR 2018
Would be looking for Thornley and Chris to make it to the quarters, where they would meet each other.
Hoping for them to take the doubles title this week as well, very weak doubles field there- The top/seeds have the only combined doubles rank under a 1000 in the draw.
Shame about Brassington's result, but at least the other four all got the wins we would have expected from them, and there's a great chance of someone coming away with the title here.
Vardhan has hardly beaten anyone inside the top 500 this year and most of his wins have come against lower ranked players in weak futures events, so as the top seed, he's not the most threatening of players.
Good set of results today and Max Jones giving the top seed a good battle taking the second set. Thornley and Eaton both solid in their singles and coming through the doubles in a tight one.

Good effort from Max and had a feeling that he could have upset Vardhan, but not quite to be in the end.
Expected wins for Sean and Chris and hopefully whoever wins their quarter final can go on to win the title. Both, especially Chris, and definately capable of winning the title here and if they did it might turn their seasons around.

Most used sentence on here? I would expect Eaton to win this title, but I still think it's unlikely that he'll be ranked any higher than he currently is in 12 months time.
