Dissertation Research - British tennis

Hi, I'm a student at Exeter Uni and love tennis so I'm researching Wimbledon for my Geography dissertation. If anyone could fill out my questionnaire that would be great, it only takes a few minutes and i really will appreciate your responses.

The filling in of this questionnaire is voluntary. Any information that you give will be treated as confidential and anonymous. In this questionnaire data is being collected on everyday nationalism in sport using the Wimbledon Tennis Championships as a case study.

Thanks

done it too. wasn't quite sure on P3Q4, not really sure how this should differ form overseas players. (but maybe i am being slow and just missed the point - i'm sure several of the other members here will jump to my defence......)

Done it. It was quite interesting smile.gif the only flaw was not having an "I was there" option on the Wimbledon question!

I agree that the answer to P3Q4 would be virtually the same for Brits as for non-Brits and I answered it that way, but there are some specific things, like getting used to playing in a hot climate and getting experience on clay so that you are more of an all-rounder.

Rachel - if you're looking for more tennis forums where most of the contributors are Brits, you could try Centre Court at http://centrecourtmag.com/forum and the Rusedski board at http://members3.boardhost.com/rusedski/ if you haven't already. I think http://www.tennis4you.com/forum/index.php has a high proportion of Brits on it too. I assume you have tried www.andymurray.com already!

i put some stuff about how being the right height is helpful. Something around 6'2, as you are more likely to have a better serve and more power, but also still be able to move well. If you look at the top 10 most of them are around that sort of size (Federer, Murray, nadal, djoker, Tsonga, Roddick, Verdasco, Monfils)

Of course, that sort of information isn't really helpful to coaching or something like that

Something about what kind of experience do British players need to gain in order to reach the top, if I remember right.
