Wardy and Josh are down to play here next week and with Josh's first lot of New Delhi points due to come off on 10 August, James will be the new GB no. 2 on that date unless Josh gets further than him here.
I noticed that teniscampos, which turns out to be tournament twitter, has started following the botb twitter (not sure why - I assume the person who runs it must be one of the Brazilians who takes part), and they seem to be doing even more frequent updates on the women's tournament this week than we were getting from Lexington this week, which is good news!
L32: James Ward WR 202 v (PR) Bruno Echagaray (MEX) WR 526 L32: (7) Josh Goodall WR 193 v (WC) Ricardo Siggia (BRA) WR 731
Echegaray reached a career high of 156 in 2007 but was out for the majority of 2008 with injury. He reached a Futures Final in Mexico in May and qualified then got to the QFs in the Manta Challenger last month. Wardy will be the first Englishman he has played at senior level but he is 3-0 against Scots - Miles MacLagan and then Alan Mackin twice, all in 2003/4. The winner of Wardy's match is likely to face (3/WC) Juan Ignacio Chela in R2!
A Futures semi is Siggia's career best result so far and it looks like this will be his first Challenger main draw match.
Even though Josh has to get a round further than Wardy to keep his GB no. 2 spot (assuming Boggo's not going to be fit enough to win Vancouver), it's certainly advantage Josh as far as the draw is concerned!

That reaction makes Safin seem like a pussycat in comparison, even though that was never a foot fault, if it was it would have been by the tiniest of margins
lol it actually gets quite scary when he goes off camera...you can hear these cracking sounds from his racquet and for a second i thought he was giving the line judge one over the head!
Josh and Sammy together again in the doubles. They've drawn the top seeds in round 1, González and Zeballos.
James is partnering Kristian Pless (DEN) and they, would you believe it, have drawn the second seeds, Rogério Dutra da Silva and Julio Silva (BRA) in round 1.
Pretty sure that match was being streamed live so I saw it when it happened. Have to feel sorry for the guy as it is clearly not a foot fault, and having not been called all match, to be called on second serve match point down isn't the thing to do... his reaction was a bit over the top though...
Goodall and Ward should both get through the first round here given they've received a pretty nice draw.
Josh's match should have started nearly an hour ago - for some reason it was scheduled to start an hour before the first matches on the other two courts - but CdJ Twitter doesn't seem to have woken up yet.
