............ She was injured trying to avoid a fence while chasing down a drop shot at the Bank of the West Classic.
"I will have to rehab for the rest of the season," said Keothavong.
"Of course I'm disappointed to be out for the rest of the season but I'll continue to work with my team and look forward to coming back next season." ...............
Very disappointed for Anne. It must be so difficult to keep picking yourself up after injury, especially such a serious one. However, having done it once before she knows it does heal.
Very sad for Anne. As Paul says she will be eligible for a protected ranking in February, so in the unlikely event of Anne being fit before then I expect she will wait to claim this. Normally players out with long-term injuries take a similar length of time after regaining fitness before they return to their previous form (like Georgie last year). Hence the protected ranking will be very valuable to Anne when she returns to form, given she is likely to be well outside 100 by next summer. Fortunately she has been through this before, and will know what to expect.
