Mel is seeded 3 here, and is scheduled to meet Nakamura in the quarter-finals. The Japanese girl hammered Mel in Clearwater earlier in the year. Before that stage is reached Riske should not be underestimated, having reached two 50K semis recently.

Mel is the second match on Court 6 tomorrow (Twitter updates available)

She'd better not. Unless she gets a semi or final here, she's going to take a huge slip back towards 150, which is really poor when you've started the year at 100. She'll have to start justifying that training block with some results.
