Main Draw for this has been rather kind to the British players from what I can see.
Thornley and Illingworth have been drawn together which is excellent, as they sure as hell wouldn't be able to beat anyone non-British to judge from their dreadful seasons.
Willis and Rice (pretty much the only British bright points this season for players ranked 850+ in January) have winnable matches too, and also Miotto (LL) and Broady are drawn together which is also excellent as once more they are highly unlikely to beat anyone non-British (especially Miotto).

Lots of Brits in the bottom half this week...fingers crossed for an all-Brit QF
Looking at the draw there is a good chance that this week will be slightly more successful for the Brits and we should get a couple of quarter finalists at least.
Think Ward, Willis, Rice, Milton and Chaudry all have good chances of beating foreign opposition while four all British matches will at least guarentee some winners.

Some interesting results in there - a few rankings upsets and some other players doing well to take sets off people you wouldn't expect them to get that close to.

I didn't notice this at the time, but up to the start of Wimbledon (no post-Wimbledon figures have been posted yet), the Wardinator was equal top in the 'most matches played this year' list with a certain Novak Djokovic.
The top 5 were:
Matches Played in 2009 so far (minimum 8 matches)
Player Nat W - L Matches PCT. 1 Djokovic, Novak SRB 43 - 13 56 0.768 2 Ward, Alexander GBR 38 - 18 56 0.679 3 Robert, Stephane FRA 43 - 12 55 0.782 4 Roumenov, Georgi ESP 40 - 15 55 0.727 5 Vivanco, Andoni ESP 35 - 20 55 0.636
5th placed Vivanco was the player who beat Alex last week, of course, and they are in the same half of the draw here in Frinton too.
The only other Brits who had played more than 40 matches before Wimbledon were Muzza with 46 (he was 3rd for best win % on 87% at that stage, Rafa was 1st), Morgan Phillips on 46 (67.4% won) and Josh Milton on 41 (56.1% won)

Milton for the final this week.Ricey will make semi.
Yeah, I reckon Milton could have a chance of winning his first tournament this week, if producing the standard of tennis he showed in Wimbledon qualies.
