QR1: Faris Akhazzan UNR v (WC) Yashar Sheet (SYR) UNR
Before last week, when he beat an Aussie called Ali Ibshara then lost 1 & 0 to Vukov WR 1765, the Bedclothes' only previous Future was Sudan F1 in 2006, where he double bagelled two Sudanese players in a row (before you get worried, it might help to remember at this point that Harith & El Rusthei, the doubles partnership legendarily once beaten by Dee & Brighten, were also from Sudan ) and then lost 2 & 2 in the main draw to a Romanian.
With his doubles partners, the Syrian won DC rubbers against Turkmenistan, Kyrgyztan and the UAE in 2005 and against Jordan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in 2006 (countries even GB might manage to beat easily!) but they did lose a doubles rubber to Bangladesh ...
Hopefully the half Thai/half Moroccan Brit can see him off, in which case:
FQR: Akhazzan or Sheet v (q1) Stefano Valenti (ITA) WR 1011
Valenti reached the SFs of a Future in Italy last month, so without wanting to play down his chances too much, I'd say Faris is probably hoping for a LL place if he wants to get into the main draw.
