well the only person he beat this year on grass was anjular, but he does have a 28-15 record over all on the surface. this year he lost to becker & Petschener.
last year he lost 13-11 in 5th set to ancic, R16 (is that QF's?) so i doubt he will run out to steam vs wardy.

Not playing very well, but the problem he's got is he hasn't got a way to beat Verdasco as if he tries to trade from the back of the court he's going to lose, and he's not comfortable at the net and doesn't volley well enough to net rush.
Not looking good for anything other than a one-sided straight sets wins for Verdasco.
It seems a combination of Ward getting more into the match and finding his game and Verdasco dropping a level that has enabled his set to be more competitive.
Would expect Verdasco to get a break at the end of the set or him to take it in a tiebreak though, but if Ward can put a few points together than he could take this to a 4th set.
