They have always said that only eight players will get a wild card, whether it is a qualifying or main draw - http://www.lta.org.uk/Resources/Competition/Wimbledon%20Wild%20Cards%20for%20the%202009%20Championships.pdf

Johnny v Josh in the top half, Colin and possibly Alex Ward in the bottom? Dunno why I pegged Alex (considering it's grass and I have no idea of his pedigree on the surface...)

Hmmm...

seems harsh of the LTA to be 'setting' Flembo up like this. By giving him a WC into Queens doubles which he is on the OOP to play later today you would think they would have supported him with a Qualies WC for Wimbledon.

Anyway Marray & Fleming should come through this. Will eb interesting to see the mess they make of the Eastbourne WC's for next week with Wimbledon Qualies on at the same time.

Do we have anyone in the know down at the this? At least they put the draw up this year, normally its like getting blood from a stone.

Can't really see past Fleming and Marray to be honest

probably, but i think smetty could pose one or two problems for josh if they meet in the semis.

Do they actually have a final? I thought it was for 2 WCs so both the guys who make it to the 'final' would get 1 anyway, making the match pointless.

I woulnd't be too surprised if Willis pushed Fleming quite close and maybe even sneak a win in 3.

I agree Alex and to be honest anyone in the top half can beat anyone in the top half on any given day..not a lot in it.

But Fleming must be hot favourite to win. Is it the top 2 that get the qualies WC's ?

What did Cavaday lose in the final round of the pre pre qualifying or something? biggrin

Yes the two finalists (who wont play a final) get the two QWC's.

I seem to remember last year that not only did the 2 finalists get a QWC but so did the losing semi-finalists.  Does anyone have a feel for whether that may happen again this year

Now thinking about it I'm sure that Chris Eaton was one of the losing semi finalists last year
