i can see either joc or tara progressing from the bottom half and smith looks to have a simplish draw.

Considering Anna has one singles win in seven months I would say Liz has a great chance of casuing an upset.

Top half looks hopelessly weak. It'd be a crying shame if only one of Tara and Joss got a QWC - but I imagine that won't be allowed to happen in reality, and we'll see 3 of these getting through. None of the full-timers in the top half deserves one on current form.

Amanda Elliott can be good on grass at times, though Tara and Joss defo deserve the cards. Khan should get one if the match she played in Nottingham was as good as she claimed after on the LTA site.

Cornish, Vickers, Tara and Joss are my 4 faves to get the WC and they all play eachother - disaster!

No Emily....I guess she is still injured. I wish her a speedy recovery if she is.

I'd give Tash the nod in the top half after her bout with Shrieky McNoisebox but the bottom half is meeeeeeean

Good results from Steph and Yasmin. I was more sure that Tash would have that one.
Liz vs Yas
Joss vs Amanda

Just my predictions. Which means it'll now be the other four... :P

What happened to Tara? Still, nice to see Steph and Hannah doing well. And ye gods, Amanda even managed to win a match! I don't really want to see Liz getting a QWC, so I hope a youngster can oust her. Still think Tara will get one anyway, so I'm not too worried...

Surely if any further WC spots open up then these should go to the next in line (i.e. losing semi-finalists) from the Wild Card Play-Off otherwise won't it make a mockery of the whole thing.

Therefore I disagree that Tara should now get one (though I do think she should have got one to the QWC in the first place but that is now a moot point).

Yeah, but they can make discretionary placements on age and exceptiona recent performance. For a 16 year old, I think Tara's recent performances have been pretty impressive, and she won a grasscourt 10k aged 15.
