Nice read. Its great to have the blogs on the LTA site aswell to get to know a little more about the tour.

The onyl points i can remember that Katie has to defend is a round 1 win in Birmingham. I hope she can match that this year.

I'm a bit worried that the points threshold for top 100 has risen a bit of late - currently 655ish, with Katie currently on 602. Of course many 50-100 players will have points coming off from RG which will knock this down considerably, but with Mel now down to 540 and Bally 570, they're going to have to do well at Nottingham to be in a position to challenge for top-100 places on the basis of Birmingham and Eastbourne wins. Mel in particular I can't see emerging from the grass season in the top 100 given that she has 70 to defend at Birmingham - even if she equals that she's going to have to do well elsewhere to challenge. For Katie, you would think a couple of wins at the WTA events will be sufficient though - fingers crossed. Will be fascinating to see how Nottingham pans out...Exciting to see Anne just 100 pts from top 40 though - though that might look rather different after RG.
