Well... Kyle Edmund is 122 this week on the same ranking list Andy Murray is 143 - Kyle in fact had a great week rising 1 spot to achieve that 122. It really does show the absurdity of the ATP lists now, they don't really have any link to reality for many players.

When exactly did British number 3, Kyle Edmund last win a match on tour?

Kyle's last win was the US Open August 2020 - he lost to Djokovic in the second round. Followed that with 4 first round losses, the last being Vienna in October 2020.
So over a year now.

So when do ATP 2020 points drop, I wonder? It looks like Jo has lost most of hers already.

Daily Mail report on Edmund's fitness, but within it there's a tiny passage saying:

"That is also expected to take place without another former GB No 1, Jo Konta, who may well have formalised her retirement plans by then."

I mean (classic Jo), I don't think it would be a huge surprise if she did call it a day soon, but it still seems weird having that bundled in midway through, almost as an afterthought.

Um, the Battle of the Brits is men only so it was always goig to be without Jo regardless of if she is retiring or not.

There have been numerous reports in our papers about Jo retiring soon, which started with the defeat in Paris. In previous years she's had a press conference in December so maybe something about any retirement will be announced/ reported officially then.

Thanks for making it accessible.   For those unaware, if you want to read an article that's paywalled all you need to do is copy and paste the headline into archive today as above and voila.  Really useful resource

Thanks for the tip on archive today. There's a similar article about Jo in today's Times.

It has been my expectation for several weeks that Jo won't play again until she is eligible for a special ranking (of 47) towards the end of February. So its no surprise she has not been seen around the NTC preparing for the AO.

It's a brilliant resource, nothing more frustrating than someone posting a link on a forum and it's paywalled.

That is the smart way to do things.
