Just read an article about the Jonathon Ross show. Jo didn't come off too well apparently, came off rather icy.

It sounds as though she was outright rude, from the Telegraph's story.

I'd rather watch paint dry than watch a chat show, but if you're going to appear on one you really should play along and at least pretend to be nice. This will haunt her for ever.

Reads to me like she was trying to be funny and cheeky and perhaps it just didn't land.

Wossy has tweeted to say she was very nice and funny and that the press are just deliberately misinterpreting things. Sounds like it was actually banter and he was in on the joke but heaven forbid a tennis player have a personality in the eyes of our media.

Ah yes, the excoriating journalism of Lexi Finnigan, who brought us the biggest and most serious stories of a generation, such as:
"Leggy Naomie Harris proves she is a pro in Esquire shoot"
"Ridley Scott's famous Hovis ad is recreated using the same actor"
"Kim Kardashian's worst-dressed moments of 2013"
"Kelly Brooks ex Thom Evans dating former Made in Chelsea star"
"Out of the blue Jessie J debuts colourful wig"
"Helen shocks as she swaps cleavage for class"
"Heartbreakers! The 20 Valentine's Day gifts that'll get you dumped"
"Princess Tiamii 'hates' her name"

All of the above from her time, until recently, as a Sun tittle-tattle micro-columnist (average article length 129 words!)
Who as recently as January, now in place at the Telegraph (online), trumpeted, without apparent irony, the greatest story of her journalistic career being when (forgive me if I summarise this incorrectly, I'm not up to date on these sorts of things) she scooped: Kristina Rihanoff announces pregnancy to elated housemates on Celebrity Big Brother

I can't see any record that she has any history in either Television criticism (as opposed to regurgitating press releases), or sports journalism.
None of which is to say she is necessarily wrong in this instance; I'm just advising caution

The Wossy Show looks like one to watch and come to our own conclusions.

Isn't he rather into his tennis so would have genuine interest in Jo ?

It all depends how they want to play it in the editing suite presumably; if she was being frosty he may have been hacking her off in the green room before-hand of course which I can well imagine given his usual ageing sleaze-bag routine :(

She came over fine. She has a very dry sense of humour, which some of the journalists didn't get.

I think all the controversial stuff was edited out, so best for all parties. Jo comes across so confident on these shows, I now understand why she performs so well on the big stage, nothing daunts her, and she'll stand up to anyone.

I thought she was really good. I watched it waiting for her 'gaff' which never came. It was good to see her on something so high profile, and being herself.

Certainly not rude or frosty.  Thought she was noticeably less relaxed though than the other guests, particularly as the program wore on, but she is new to this kind of thing and they were old hands.  Also, not sure she looked particularly comfortable in what she was wearing, wondered if she'd been persuaded into it by a stylist.  Which is not to say she didn't look very stylish in it.  Not a 10 out of 10 for me but thought she made a really good stab at it and so great to see tennis in the mainstream media in this country outside of the Wimby period.

I agree that it seemed abit out of her comfort zone. I wondered about her outfit too, especially the shoes (Ref Judy hating heels on Strictly). Not that she looked bad,but she didn't look like the Jo we're used to. It would be interesting to see how that outfit compares to ones she wears for pre tourny parties.

A new forum for her, and as she intimated and new opportunity. She's so level headed these days, but even so to go from only being known by the likes of us and then to appear on the Jonothan Woss show must be an adjustment/shock to the system.

I think I'd be looking around me wondering what I was doing next to all the famous people.

The 3 so called controversial moments were edited out : Jo describing a question as boring, the Tim Henman story, and JR questioning her grip when she was playing tennis with grapes. JR described her as funny and feisty which I think is spot on, that's why some people in the audience who witnessed the full uncut version may have thought she was a little bit 'frosty'. Would have loved to have watched the full unedited version just out of curiosity. I quite enjoyed the banter with Rob Brydon, the bits we saw. And I'm certainly no fashion expert, but I've thought she's look great all glammed up for both her Claire Balding/ JR appearances.
