Not too surprised about them to be honest - Grosjean was always going to get one if he was fit, which I suppose must be the only issue about him, and Nishikori had a good event at Queens last year and is a rising player who has struggled with injury.

Dimitrov does get his weekly WC, but I guess it's all about making sure that he plays Queens when he's a much higher ranked player.

And I think we can safely say that these three with also be getting a Wimbledon WC as well.

Two WC's for Brits then.... no idea who the lucky two will be though.

Oh dear, so much for any hopes that the Queen's WC policy was going to change after the LTA took over the tournament. I completely understand the WC for Grosjean, but Dimitrov and Nishikori, that's just ridiculous - WC's are supposed to be for home players and/or players that people really want to see.

yeh i think this is a fair choice, tho maybe taylor dent?
grosjean has always been a fan of england and its grass courts so deserves one, sentiment alone.

If the remaining widcards go to Brits, then two of Ward, Evans and Eaton would be my bet.

I think you're right as I for one would prefer to see a Brit playing than a non-household named foreigner.  Grosjean - fair enough but the other two, I just don't see that drawing in the crowds.

Whenever you go to Wimbledon people are always drawn to the Brits playing on the outside courts and I'm sure the same would apply at Queens.

Surely the two British ones will go to Ward and Eaton.

As for the choices - really don't see the advantages of giving them to these players (except Grosjean)

terrible! if this event was in any other country it would of been one WC to a foreign player and the rest to home players

Yes, but the LTA's 'get tough' policy is why we are so much more successful than countries like France, Spain or Russia who stupidly give out lots of WCs to home players.

Spot the minor flaw in that argument ...

If Evans doesn't get a wild card here, he should fire his agent. Seriously.

Dimitrov was always getting a wild card here. Looks like he has taken a short cut to self destruction - good on him.

If I was going to Queen's I'd rather watch a potential future star of the game like Nishikori or Dimitrov, than a Brit journeyman like Ward or Eaton.

Sorry!

(Dimitrov won junior Wimbledon last year, by the way)

agree with you saw Eaton at Braehead he won match but some of his play ground strokes were shocking. At the moment the mens game in Britain is pretty dire! Andy excepted! Dan Evans should get a WC possibly James Ward but then one struggles!

loads of youngsters like Willis Smethurst etc but too soon yet for them. Danny Cox I am unsure about seems too slight in my humble opinion to make big break through.

Any word of a Jamie Baker come back? One of my favourite players.

And obviously the US, France, Spain etc. have a wrong policy, which is clearly shown by the lack of their players in the top 100.
