Apparently he is vegan

He was for a little time but isn't any more. He was quouted in a recent Guardian article saying that he fell off that wagon fairly big time and hasn't got back on.

I agree. I actually factored it in negatively in my season predictions. It was only later that I read that he was Vegan no more.

Dan has beaten as many top 25 ranked players in week 1 as any British male player managed in the whole of 2019.

2019 : Dan W2-L8, Kyle 2-9, Andy 2-4, Cam 1-7

2020 : Dan 2-0*

Both Goffin and de Minaur are actually top 20 but it is top 25 stats that I had already.

* Edit: Dan actually 2-1 against the top 20/25 ( Dimitrov top 20 ) as Bruce points out later.

I think the win over kohlschreiber at the Davis cup was a real confidence boost for dan after a poor run at year end

www.atptour.com/en/rankings/singles has only added 200 points to Dan's total, giving him 1324 points and a new career high ranking of 33rd.

p.s. I make Dan's record against the top 20 (and 25) this year 2-1. He lost Dimitrov.

yeah, seems wiki and OER had it right all along and Live rankings and more importantly the ATP got it wrong in their initial machinations!

Maybe it is that rogue 15 points (and for others) that is flowing through into the "seedings" that are being reported elsewhere on twitter?

Indeed and err indeed. Corrected my Dan top 25 record post.

Dan is entered into Dubai ATP500, with Montpellier, Rotterdam, Marseille all to play in before then, presumably after Dubai, a short time in the UK and then off to Indian Wells and Miami?

Really trying to make hay over the next 6 weeks or so.

I think he is ranked high enough not to gave to enter qualifying so it makes sense

Dubai List has 5 of top 10 and 8 of top 20, with Dan easily inside the cut

Given his age and given his year out without earning (and paying back $400k from the previous year), Dan is clearly (and who can blame him) to earn money which I think seems to be behind his call on Tokyo v US Hardcourts and also probably linked to his wanting to play maximum events now. As he says, not much time to make hay.

Is he still un sponsored for his kit? Surely someone would be willing to back him, seems bizarre. Not every corporate wants clean cut, Dans slightly edgy image would play well to some I am sure

Dan, calm, you can still have quite a few good years.
