Another huge 128 qualifying draw in Spain with 5 wins needed for a rankings point if you start out in QR1. The Wardinator was 6th Alt here, but one advantage of qualifying starting on Friday here is that he should get an SE since he's still in the Balaguer Future. More good news too - the 'dream team' are in action again ...
QR1: Robert Dee UNR v Mark Mozer (BLR) UNR QR1: James Armstrong UNR v Philippos Tsangaridis (CYP) UNR QR1: Charlie Goode UNR v Egor Kovalev (RUS) UNR

QR1: Robert Dee UNR lost to Mark Mozer (BLR) UNR by 6-1 7-6(5) QR1: James Armstrong UNR lost to Philippos Tsangaridis (CYP) UNR by 1 & 2 QR1: Charlie Goode UNR lost to Egor Kovalev (RUS) UNR by 0 & 0
That's only the third tiebreak Robert has played in singles at ITF level and the closest he's got to winning one! He did better than the other two Brits today (a dire day, admittedly) and it's becoming every clearer that he's the stronger link in the dream team ...

L32: (SE) Alex Ward WR 846 v (3) José Checa Calvo (ESP) WR 309
Checa Calvo beat the Wardinator in the Dominican Republic last December, though the score was 6-4 0-6 7-6(4), meaning that Alex won 3 more games! The Spaniard also beat Robert Dee 1 & 3 in 2007 and Morgan Phillips in a very tight 3-setter in 2004.
