Slabba should walk through qualifying in what could turn out to be an important morale boosting manner. I've no idea what his clay court game is like but winning is everything when it comes to confidence so here's hoping!!

There will be 3, 4 or 5 GB qualifiers after an eventful first day of qualifying (in the sense that there were quite  few three set matches), particularly for Richard Gabb who kept himself in his match against Jamie Whiteford by winning a 2nd set t/b in which he must have been match points down by 12-10 before coming back from a set down (again) to beat Edward Seator, whose comeback sadly did not exactly go to plan. cry

It's rained non-stop today where I live (near London) so I'm guessing there's been no play in Bournemouth? The forecast was just as bad down there for today.

Sod all on the LTA site, but that's hardly surprising for an organisation that can't even employ someone who can spell "quarter-final"! no

Mens qualies all scheduled for a 10am start tomorrow. It looks like they are holding the singles draw up but doubles has been released.

http://www.lta.org.uk/Global/Downloads/Results/2009/AEGON%20Pro%20Series/Bournemouth%20APR/Mens%20Doubles%20Draw.pdf

The sharp eyed on the board may be able to work out a couple of the singles wild cards from there????
