I doubt its too serious. Its probably better he rests rather than playing 10ks IMO. He shouldnt get used to playing at a low level now hes shown he can take big titles.

Is he likely to get directly into the main draw here or will he have to qualify?

Qualies, more or less surely. Sadly this injury makes it rather unlikely that he'll get to play French Open this year, but it's okay.

I hope Cox goes to Tenerife or if that's too far from Turkey, then Rhodes - no point in playing on red clay this year. He'll surely do Edinburgh and Newcastle after that and hopefully it'll be grass straight after that. US Open qualies seems to be a possible target...

As #46 alternate he needed 14 players to drop out to make the cut for qualies, plus Olaso went past him this week so the number has risen to 15.

That sounds like a really tough line up for a 42.5k Challenger if he can't even get into qualifying with his ranking.

But don't forget that those 46 alternates are probably the same 46 alternates for pretty much every challenger in Europe that is happening that week and they will all have a different preference as to which one, if any, they chose to try and qualify for.
