The draw is out & both the Murray boys are down to play, Andy in theory (i.e. if he's fit!) with Ross Hutchins (he obviously has the Murray seal of approval! ) & Jamie, as already reported elsewhere, with Simon Aspelin of Sweden. Neither pair is seeded & the top seeds, surprise, surprise, are the Bryans:
R1: Andy & Hutch vs Tomas Berdych (CZE) & Nicolas Kiefer (GER) (same quarter of the draw as the third seeds, Bhupathi & Knowles)
R1: Jamie & Simon vs Juan Martín del Potro & David Nalbandian ( ) (same quarter of the draw as the fourth seeds, Dlouhy & Paes)
For all the difference it's going to make, they're in opposite halves of the draw. And for the record, two of Jamie's ex-partners are also in the thick of it, though not seeded, Vemic with Big Ivo & Max again with Andy Ram...
Only just caught up with this. Hutch & Huss not ranked high enough to get in on their own merit, I take it. Neither pair have an easy first-round match, doubt Andy'll be too bothered but I always tend to feel a bit sorry for the other player in that situation. Be interesting to see how they fare, even so. I'll be surprised if Jamie & Simon get the better of their opponents, but who knows...
Yeah, I guess Huss and Hutchins worked out that they were further out of the entry list than their were on-site spots available, and with several teams having not signed up, they were unlikely to play together.
Both draws aren't easy, but it all depends on how much interest the singles players put in the doubles matches, but I'd hope that one of them can get a win
