eek - you'd think if you go to West Africa and you have a ranking in the 600s you'd get a DA!
I suppose it is a 15K+H ... even so.
The one thing you can definitely tell from this week's entry lists is that there's no bog-standard 50K (or so) Challengers anywhere convenient to mop up the 200-300 mob.
Or are players already realising that it's now more beneficial in ranking point terms than it used to be to drop down to a Future and win it than to go a round or two in a Challenger?

i certainly think being a top player at a 15k+h is better than trying to qualify for a challenger, winning 3 matches at a 15k+h is 9 pts, winning 3 to Q at a challenger 5 points.
4 matches at futures 19 pts, 4 at mid challenger (inc Q) 13 so it makes sense really, as often the players you will be facing at the challengers will be tougher.

Yes, that's what I think too. It's going to be demoralising (and make it even harder to win enough cash to help find themselves) for the players who used to pick up regular points from Futures though if half the Challenger players start playing down.

i don't think you'll see MD challenger players dropping down often as then the cuts would drop so more futures players would get in, but the players outside the top 250 may well look at them more often.
of course i think it doesn't help that the early season calender seems so sparse.

suggests that Bloomers may be trying to qualify for the Dallas Challenger (that's TBarM7's Challenger, isn't it?) then trying to get into qualifying for San Jose.
Sounds a bit more fun than playing Colin Fleming again in a Future.

Would be good to see Bloomers have a go at qualifying for Dallas, especially as it has live streaming, so there's a good chance we'll be able to see his matches live, and there's probably a good chance he'd make it through qualifying which will boost his points tally.
Fleming has made it into the draw in Ivory Coast, while Thornley is now 1st alternate in Mexico, and will make it unless the 2 SE spots are used
