Player of the Year Polls - Top Female Doubles Player

By Peter too

I have collected the following list of all the players who have won at least one $25K this year.
Sarah Bowell and Anna Hawkins are now both doubles specialists.
Jocelyn Rae is the best of the newcomers. Several other players have a higher ranking than these but haven't won a doubles title this year. I have listed them in order of the highest tournament won and given their ranking at the end of last year and their present ranking.

____________Ranking___________

Name______2007_2008_____Titles

Sarah Borwell 482 107 $25K Capriolo, $25K Irapuato, $25K Felixstowe, $100K Odense

Anna Smith 384 183 $10K Sunderland, $25K Stockholm, $75K Shrewsbury

Melanie South 190 110 $25K Sorrento, $50K Fukuoka

Anna Fitzpatrick 321 276 $25K Clearwater, $25K Fort Walton,  $25K Coatzacoalcos

Anna Hawkins 301 255  $25K Coatzacoalcos

Amanda Elliott 467 281 $25K Glasgow

Jocelyn Rae  1058 354 $25K Kawana

-----------------------------------------------------

I have just selected the top 4 here for the poll...Drew.

I voted Sarah, but have really been impressed with the Anna Smith/ Johanna Larsson team up (I guess they work because of Anna's Swedish connections??) and if they played together for a year I think they could make an impact on the WTA tour, but I guess both have ambitions in singles and are still young, so that's fair enough.
