- Boggo, who may be seeded - Josh - Bloomers - Marray was 2nd Alt at the last update (using his PR so may well be in if this was before the SEs were cleared and they do get cleared)
WCs for:
- Slabba, who would have got a DA had he bothered to enter (possibly he was intending to stay in the US, but is well off the cut for Champaign) - Wardy - Evo - Cox (looking at the top 25 table and recent form, with loads of higher-ranked Brits having a good claim on a WC you would have thought, do you end up wondering if the reason why Arka has disappeared is because he's now on the LTA's WC committee )
I would expect to see Eaton plus most if not all of the Brits who played in Sunderland and did not get DAs or WCs here to appear in qualifying. I think the Q draw is tonight, with qualifying on Sunday and Monday but some main draw R1 matches on Monday as well.

So when have the suits responsible for administering British tennis at all levels, like their counterparts at the FA, ever been able to get anything right, i.e. for the genuine benefit of the sport?
are those wild cards confirmed?! i though ward eaton and slabba were all going to qualify for champaign as it would seem a bit of a mission for ward to get from canada to jersey and then jersey to UAE the next week- but that is the life of a tennis player i spose

what time can we expect the Qualies draw tonight?
It's up now, I'll just get the GB matches together and post them here.
Poor Jonny Marray - he's in the top section with late entrant/ringer (q1) Evgeny Korolev WR 103, while Hrbaty is (q2)

So much for Jersey qualifying not being expected to be that strong. The good news is that the Brits have avoided the top three seeds in QR1 the bad news is that they need to win three rounds just to get two ranking points and there aren't that many Brits in action, partly because half of the qWCs have gone to non-GB players. Colin was the last qualifying direct acceptance too ...
QR1: (qWC) Orion Modebe UNR v Roman Jebavy (CZE) WR 446 QR1: Chris Eaton WR 385 v (q8) Jan Mertl (CZE) WR 354 (the winners of these two matches play each other)
QR1: Ken Skupski WR 562 v (q5) Peter Gojowczyk (GER) WR 331
Section 4
QR1: Neil Bamford WR 711 v (q4) Andreas Haider-Maurer (AUT) WR 326 QR1: Colin Fleming WR 819 v Tomas Zib (CE) WR 490 (winner likely to face (q6) Janowicz (POL) WR 339)
Btw, to answer the question about main draw WCs, I trust the source and the qualifying draw seems to just about confirm their list as well.

I think it's ok for the UK tournaments to give WCs that aren't entirely based on form.
It's been well documented how Cox has seemed to get some pretty bad draws this summer/autumn and so perhaps this is a chance for him to get some main draw points. It's all in the draw again though.
Wardy and Evo picked themselves with great recent performances.
Slabba appears to have acted like a muppet but at the same time he has a better chance of progressing than any other WC so it's not completely stupid!
As for the qualies WC's my guess is that those people were the only people who had bothered to travel to Jersey - altohugh why they weren't made DA's I don't know.
As for qualifiers - I guess Jonny and Chris have the best chance but I'd be pleasantly surprised if any Brits qualified here
I'd guess that the non-British WC's got them either because of some relationship with Jersey, or because they were the only players who had actually travelled to Jersey and so would make up the draw - I'm sure if more Brits had gone, then they'd have got the WC's instead.
Not the greatest qualifying draw for the Brits, but hopefully Eaton and Flembo can play really well and qualify, and Jonny can provide a big upset over Korolev, but we could well not be getting any qualifiers here.
GB matches in the main draw, I'll edit in the WRs when the new rankings come out tonight.
L32 Q1: (WC) James Ward WR v Paolo Lorenzi (ITA) WR (winner likely to play top seed Guccione) L32 Q2: Richard Bloomfield WR v Qualifier (winner to play (5) Mannarino or Qureshi) L32 Q3: Josh Goodall WR v Gary Lugassy (FRA) WR (winner to play winner of next match) L32 Q3: (WC) Alex Slabinsky WR v (4) Joseph Sirianni (AUS) WR L32 Q4: (7) Alex Bogdanovic WR v Tobias Kamke (GER) WR (winner to play winner of next match) L32 Q4: (WC) Daniel Evans WR v Michael Koning (NED) WR L32 Q4: (WC) Daniel Cox WR v Qualifier (winner likely to play (2) A Beck)
