Matt is in the same section as the top seed Matt Reid, a junior who is more succesful on the doubles court, and has twice lost to Dan Smethurst in singles this year.

L32: Sean Thornley WR 796 v Chase Buchanan (USA) WR 859

Sean is in a nice 1/8th of the draw with no. 8 seed Dennis Lajola (USA) WR 787 ranked only 9 places above him. In fact, Buchanan was ahead of Sean last week but slipped over 50 places on Monday as Sean moved up another 20. Unfortunately, the other seed in his quarter is no. 1 seed Ignatik, but Sean must have a fair chance of getting far enough to play him if he plays well.
