Week 44 - Futures F3 (10k) - Lahore, Pakistan

Fitzy & Bains here on the last leg of their Pakistan tour, draw hasn't showed up yet so maybe Fitzy can fill us in (although he hasn't been around for a few days)?

Maybe he hasn't got a connection in Lahore?

Strangely, there were 4 main draw matches on Sunday's OoP, but with no names against them.

Anyway, talking of Fitzy, he's up 81 places to a new career high of 1193 today biggrinbiggrin - that gets him fleetingly into the GB top 30 (with a point coming off next Monday) until Meatball roars back up the rankings next Monday.

L32: Maniel Bains WR 1022 v Patrick Taubert (GER) WR 937
L32: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1193 v (7) Lazare Kukhalashvili (GEO) WR 945

Taubert beat Feaver (who seems to be skipping this week, perhaps to head home and prepare for more Futures in Europe?) in 3 sets in the QFs last week, which doesn't augur well. Kuk beat Seator in straight sets in Ireland earlier this year, so probably not a draw worth braving the rats and nobroaches for, sadly.

Both were first up today, so will have finished by now.

They were doubles matches which were: -

R1
FITZPATRICK (GBR) / GIDE (IND) defeated ALI (PAK) / EJAZ (PAK) 6-2 6-1
BAINS (GBR) / FILENKOV (RUS) (2) defeated MALAK (PAK) / NAZIR (PAK) 6-2 6-4

QF
FITZPATRICK (GBR) / GIDE (IND) Vs BAINS (GBR) / FILENKOV (RUS) (2)

Yes, it's been a Lahore of a day there by the looks of it. cry

Kuk is a 17-year-old who only started playing Futures regularly in June, so he's massively under-ranked. He beat Dan Cox in juniors in April and Seator in straight sets earlier this year too, so it was an evil draw even, though I hoped he'd avoid the bakery products.

he was like a wall, which wasnt what i needed as i was having to go for quick winners.
internet is beyond impossible to get here, power cuts every 1hour.

have fun fitzy, a good chance to unwind iguess. get the brain focusing on something else - just remebr to jump over any leg breaking tackles that come your way! (and watch out for the bangkok chick-boys)

oh an Steven - whats with all the puns today? personally i suggest you stick to facts and leave the jokes to the funny men wink.gif

edit: btw uf you havent been to thailand before its a great place to pick up a cheap suit, a lot of the better hotels have tailors in the lobby where they make a fitted one in whatever material you like, and can'copy' the desgin from any of the main designers. great prices too.
