I picked it up when I was checking for new sites for the GB top 25 tables this week, so you may already have been getting a few visits from here. It looked new at the time, and pretty good. smile.gif

Controversial Poll on the homepage.

Not sure it's all that wise to start a war with the LTA, even if she's not in the LTA stable

My personal view of the LTA and funding is slightly complex.

I understand why they have systems, especially for juniors.

However, I do think, when you pass a certain threshold in terms of quality and age, the LTA should be prepared to let you get on with it a bit -you've shown you are delivering.

I think Naomi, having made it into the top 500 (and made the recent improvements on her own), deserves a little bit of this type of LTA confidence now.

It's sort of public money, so of course the LTA should set a bench mark for who is allowed this luxury, and should also set out the progress they expect from individuals from the investment-then if the person doesn't meet it, then they can cut the future funding or demand they work their way. They can also proscribe terms and conditions to ensure 'good reflection of professional standards' that result in immediate cessation if breached.

The things is, some people just work best their own way. I do. I loathe being tightly managed. And if this is actually working, forcing someone into the LTA way is just disincentivising.
